Not much has been going on lately. Just work for me and school for Brody. Brody is loving being back in school, and I'm slowly getting used to working full time again. I'm still in training (and will be for another 4 weeks) so I can't say yet if I like the job or not. But either way, I'm thankful to at least have something! (PS, I'm working at State Farm as a Life Insurance Assistant. Basically I'll be talking to State Farm agents from all over the country and assisting them in selling Life Insurance). So since there's nothing to report, I'll do a post on something about Fort Collins, CO that I've found to be very interesting.
First of all, let me just say that I am extremely happy to be living near mountains again. However, our situation is slightly different here than it was Utah. Rather than being completely surrounded by mountains on all sides, we live on the very edge of them. Literally.
If you were to stand in the middle of the road facing north, and you turned your head left (to the west) you would see this:
Big, beautiful mountains that are so tall, the top is covered in clouds and snow.
But then, if you turn your head the other way (to the east) you would see this:
Nothing.
It's so crazy to me that those big, huge, tall mounds of earth just, end. With no sign of another mound anywhere. Not even a small one. It's just completely flat for as far as the eye can see!
(These pictures were taken back in October, but it's actually pretty similar to what it looks like now. We've had a total of probably 1 inch of snow in the last 2 months. It's a little depressing. However, it HAS been in the 40's and 50's lately, so we've been able to spend a lot of time outside)

Christmas Break
This year, we had an extra long Christmas break. I quit my job at Olive Garden on Dec 15, and don't start my new job at State Farm until Jan 9 (tomorrow), so we went home to Utah for an entire 3 weeks! This made me very happy.
Even though we were there longer than normal, we were still just as busy. All with fun things of course! Here's a look at some of the things we did.
- Babysat these cuties for a whole weekend (our niece and nephew).
- Attended an ugly lamp party
- Had a slumber party in the basement
- Took family pictures with Brody's family
- Had a wonderful Christmas Eve with Brody's family
- And a wonderful Christmas Day with my family
- Went to Salt Lake with my mom, sister, aunt and cousins for shopping and lunch
- Played 'Just Dance' with friends (that game is awesome)
- And saw my favorite little puppy, who belongs to those same friends
- Went to a yummy crepe shop with the Bundy's
- Didn't get a chance to go skiing because it didn't snow the ENTIRE time we were there :( So instead, we raked leaves. (In case you didn't catch that: Skiing in the winter- No. Raking leaves in the winter- Yes. What the??)
- And other fun activities that are not pictured include:
Bowling
Seeing the movies 'Adventures of Tin Tin' and 'We Bought a Zoo'
Eating out lots
Staying at a cabin in Bear Lake for New Year's Eve
Playing lots of games
And just enjoying being with our dear family and friends
It was a great break and we're excited for the new year-- 2012 is going to be great, I just know it!
P.S. I start my new job tomorrow... wish me luck!
