Winter

Here are the highlights from winter -- if you can even call it that -- I do believe this was the warmest winter on record!!  I guess I should say highlights from January to March.

My temporary job
Right after Christmas, I started watching my friends little boy 3 days a week for 8 hours a day until May.  He is only 3 days younger than Evan so I now have a small glimpse into what it would be like to have twins!  It took a couple days to get adjusted, but he's so well behaved that it's not bad at all!  Although, I do look forward to the days when it's just Evan ;)

We do try and get out once during the day, just for a quick walk, and that helps a lot.
This time, I forgot Evan's beanie, so I gave him mine :)

6 month photo shoot
I attempted to do a little photo shoot for Evan's 6 month birthday with my new camera.  I'm still learning how to use it properly, but they still turned out pretty good!

Random things

Beautiful sunrise

Trip to AZ
We did a lot of trips this winter, which is great because usually winter is so long and boring, but since we had a lot of fun things going on, it flew by!  We met up with my mom and sister in Phoenix the end of February for a quick trip to visit friends and family and soak up some sun.  It was great seeing people I don't get to see that often and Evan loved hanging out with his Grammie and Aunt Jess.  He did pretty good on the plane ride, but flying alone with a baby is definitely tricky and I learned a lot for next time :)

He was so happy to see Dad when we got home!

Trip to Steamboat Springs, CO
The very next weekend, we headed off on our next adventure!  To Steamboat Springs with Brad and Jessica.  They so very kindly agreed to come out and watch Evan while me and Brody went skiing.  It was a great weekend!

He did great with all this traveling and especially loved playing in the suitcase.

Getting creative with activities
Since I was confined to the house (for the most part) 3 days a week when watching Landon, and Evan is an incredibly busy, active guy, I had to get creative with different activities for him to do, including, but not limited to:

Playing in the fridge and dishwasher

Mirror on the floor

Playing in boxes

Trip to Utah
Our 3rd and final trip this winter, was a trip to Utah (just me and Evan).  My mom paid for us to fly out for a visit since we weren't planning on coming until June.  We had a great time!

Despite the look on his face in this picture,
Evan was in heaven with all the new toys and gadgets to play with at my moms house

Went for a small hike with these lovely ladies

Had fun playing with cousins!

Evan update
Evan is now 8 months old and just growing and changing like crazy!  He crawls at super high speeds, will eat anything we give him (including pickles, sausage, and lemons), but hates baby food with chunks in it (he gags repeatedly and then refuses to eat more), he pulls himself up on everything and loves to play with anything new.  I love watching him discover new things and I think he likes it too, because he has been so much more content ever since he started crawling.  He likes making loud and weird noises all the time and is still doing his scrunchy face while breathing in and out through his nose.  He weighs 20 pounds and has the chubbiest cheeks you ever did see which I could kiss and pinch all day long.  His favorite things right now are: swinging at the park, walks in the stroller or baby carrier, pickles, playing in the dishwasher and fridge, and eating Sal's food (or attempting to any time he can!)

And as always, here are a bunch of pictures of the little guy, just for fun.

He looooves the swing! If you can't tell...

December

The whole 2 weeks of December that we were actually home in Fort Collins were extremely busy with present buying and wrapping, Christmas parties and packing for Utah.  But I still managed to take quite a few pictures of the little guy.

Wearing one of Brody's old sweaters

He ALWAYS has something in his mouth.  If there are no toys nearby, he'll just stick his hands in there.

I love my boy

Ready for Christmas

Bath time!

We took Evan to this cute place downtown to see Santa.  He seemed indifferent toward him.

Photo shoot in front of the tree

Evan reached a LOT of new milestones this month:

He started holding his own bottle (most of the time)

First time eating rice cereal

He sits on his own now!

He has discovered his feet

To my followers (if any besides my mom and sister):  I love documenting my life and sharing it with people, but I'm going to be cutting back quite a bit on my blog posts.  Now that Evan is getting older, sleeping less and becoming more interactive, I want to spend more time actively engaged with him and also focusing on compiling my yearbook in my spare time (something that I will have forever, as opposed to this blog... I'm sure one day they'll shut down blogger completely and all this time I spend on each post will be for nothing).  We'll see how it goes -- I may try posting monthly, or it might even just be quarterly, but I'll still do some sort of update about the main happenings in our life for those people who either: A). Don't follow me on Instagram or Facebook or B). Want more pictures and details than the few pictures I post on social media, I just won't be posting as much detail as what you're used to.

Christmas in Utah 2014

We had a great time being in Utah for Christmas and New Years.  Here are the highlights!

Piano Guys concert in SLC
We left Evan with Brody's mom one night and went to SLC with my mom, dad, Brad and Jess to see the Piano Guys in concert!!  It was a great night!

2 days in WY at my aunts cabin
We spent 2 days at my aunts AMAZING cabin in Wyoming.  They have arcades, 2 bowling alleys and a karaoke stage all INSIDE their cabin.  They also have 8 snowmobiles (among many other fun toys) that we took out for a ride one of the days.  It was a lot of fun!

Everyone LOVED Evan!

Christmas Eve at my grandmas
We did a photo booth this year at my grandmas in addition to the present game and our incredible feast (shrimp, crab legs, oysters, turkey, roast beef and about a billion sides).  It was fun!

Christmas Day
We woke up to an incredibly beautiful white Christmas!  It was perfect.  We spent the morning with Brody's family, then back to my parents to talk to my brothers on Skype!  It was very quiet and sad without both of them here this year, but it was great to talk to them on Skype for a little while.

Jake loved meeting Evan!

The boys got to talk to/see each other as well!

Brody pulled off the most amazing surprise EVER for my Christmas present.  A new, really nice CAMERA!!  This was one of the first pictures I took with it and I can already tell its 10 times better than my old crappy one.  I'm SOO excited!!

I think Evan liked his first Christmas

Windy day Skiing at Beaver mountain
We went skiing on a day we thought we be the perfect day to ski (12 new inches in the last 24 hours) but it turned out to be windy and FREEZING so we only stayed a few hours, but we still had a lot of fun!

See, I told you it was windy...

The mountains look smoky because of the wind!

Snowshoeing on New Years
We kept up our tradition for the 3rd year in a row and went snowshoeing on New Years Day.  It was beautiful and Evan enjoyed it as well!

Bundled up and ready to go.

Until next time, Utah!
