Family retreat in Winter Park

The weekend after Breckenridge (Labor Day weekend), we met up with my entire family in Winter Park for another little weekend getaway and for everyone to meet Evan (well, everyone besides my mom and sister, who had already spent a good amount of time with him).  The Bundy's came too because, well, they are basically part of the family :)  It was a lot of fun and I felt like I didn't even have a child the whole weekend because everyone else wanted to hold him so much.

We stayed in a really nice condo with a hot tub and a great view of the mountains.  We enjoyed doing a couple nature walks/hikes, checking out the resort and going on the alpine slide, playing games at the condo and just enjoying each other's company.

More pictures of all the love Evan got!

His favorite "superbaby" hold (I promise he can breathe)

He sure was a happy boy all weekend!

Brody, Cam and Brad went climbing one morning

Then we walked around the resort.  We stopped and played bean bag toss for a while which was really fun!

My mom happily offered to stay with Evan while we did the alpine slide.
He was a dream and slept the whole time in his stroller.

I forgot how fun these things are!

All of us!

While on our nature walk, it started hailing on us.... HARD! There were no trees nearby to shield us, so we just had to take it.  I've never been stuck outside during a hailstorm before.  It HURTS!!

Hail.

We found this cool, old cemetery while on our walk.  I love finding stuff like this!

The cute little downtown area where we ate dinner

These guys all did a pretty intense hike to James Peak.
They were not anticipating how cold it would be at the top, but I think they still had fun anyway?
Afterwards, they took a well deserved soak in the hot tub

Playing games at the condo

Brody was being really cute and playing with the girls for a while one afternoon

Cam was a little nervous holding Evan at first but he quickly became very good at being an uncle!

Grandma Lee and Evan reunite!

We had a great time!!  Everyone loved Evan and Evan loved everyone!

Girls weekend in Breckenridge

On Evan's 1 month birthday, we celebrated by taking him on his first trip!  He came with me on a girl's weekends trip to Breckenridge, CO with my friends Nicole, Chelsey and Brindisi.  I was a little worried about how he would do, but he did awesome!!

It was pretty rainy the whole time we were there, so we had to find some fun indoor activities.  We went shopping, painted our nails, played games, took a gondola ride, walked around downtown and ate some of the best tacos I've ever had.

This picture sums up the weekend pretty good: Nail polish, "Just Dance", junk food, games, and (virgin) mojitos

He slept like a champ in his carrier the entire time we were shopping.

And he was content to hang out in his carseat during the gondola ride and at dinner.

We switched to the Moby wrap that Nicole let me borrow for our evening walk around the town.  I liked it much better!

It was a really nice little getaway and we had a great time together!

First month home with Evan

Today Evan is 1 month old!!  I can't believe it.  Things are going great, for the most part and we're finally starting to establish somewhat of a routine.  He loves mornings but gets a little fussy in the afternoon/evening.

My mom came the day Evan was born and stayed for 10 days.  It was beyond helpful to have her here while I recovered (which was a lot longer and more painful than I was expecting).  Brody's mom and Con came the day after my mom left and stayed for the weekend.  Then 2 weeks later, my sister Jessica came for a week to help babysit while I went back to my old job for a couple days to help them with the beginning of the school year. We've probably taken a couple hundred pictures so far, but I'll try and narrow it down to just a moderate size picture dump for this post.

Enjoy.

He loves being held like this even when he's not being burped.

He looks like a bored student sleeping at their desk.

Salomon grew instantly attached to Evan and will usually choose to hang out where he is.

This little guy has completely stolen our hearts and we have loved our first month with him.
