CA-RA-ZY weather!!

We've had about the weirdest winter/spring combination you could possibly imagine.  There were days in January where the temp got up to the high 50's and even low 60's a day or two.  It snowed a few times throughout the winter (January - March), but 70% of the time there was no snow on the ground.

By the time April rolled around, we thought - AWESOME!  Spring is here!  Let's get out our summer clothes, start planting gardens, etc. The grass was starting to turn green and everyone was happy.

(Green grass!!)

But....... all of that happiness came to a screeching halt halfway through the month, when mother nature decided to switch things up completely.

On the morning of Monday April 15th, it started snowing and didn't really stop until Thursday.  We got a total of 20 inches in 72 hours which was more snow that we got all winter!!  The only good thing about all this was, we got 2 snow days! The school district issued an early release one day, late start the next day and a full on snow day the 3rd day - it was great!  {We also really needed the moisture, so that part was good too}

Enjoying the snow day hanging out at home in my pj's

By the end of the day on Sunday the snow was completely gone.

But wait! That's not the end of this crazy story. The next day, Monday, we woke up to more snow!! Probably about 5 more inches.

That snow melted a few days later as well.  But that's STILL not the end....

On Monday the next week, this is what my phone said about the weather:

It was 76 that day, yet that orange exclamation point is a winter weather warning for the next evening.  I thought for sure it was a fluke and wasn't really going to dump a bunch of snow AGAIN.  But what do ya know, on Wednesday May 1, we woke up to about 10 inches and the snow continued to fall all day.  We got another snow day because of it though - the 3rd snow day in 3 weeks!  I'll take it :)

Brody and I in our matching hoodies - the perfect article of clothing to wear on a snow day.  It was so great to roll out of bed at 9:00 am on a Wednesday! (we were still trying to fully wake up, if you couldn't tell...)

The next day was beautiful! The sun came out and made the snow/ice appear glittery.

This was the sign we had up at our school that week.
It says "snow, snow go away, Timnath kids want to go out and play!"

I think that was officially the end of the snow-spectacle and we can NOW start enjoying whatever is left of spring and getting ready for summer.

What a fun place this state called Colorado is :)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh spring. The battle between summer and winter trying to duke it out. You sure captured some creative and artistic photos, so I do really like that aspect :)

I DO love a mix up in things. Glad we both don't live in Siberia!

That is ca-ra-zee! I can't believe it all melted so fast! That's the most amazing part. I'm so glad we live places were the weather changes. It would be so boring to have it be the same for most of the year. . .

I'm glad I looked at this post again, because you added new pictures! They're all great, and I'm amazed that you got that much snow on May 1. Brody looks a little sleepy/drunk in that last picture. haha

That is insane weather!!! I'm glad you have a good supply of winter clothes to brave the snow with and hope the rest of your May will be sunny.
