Random happenings in October

Decorations
I always love putting up fall decorations, even if it does make a giant mess!

I did everything the exact same as last year (click here if interested), except the addition of this cute little banner I made a while back.

General Conference
I always enjoy watching General Conference.  This year I watched the Saturday afternoon session in the kitchen while I made some yummy treats!

Broken foot
Brody did, in fact, get a stress fracture in his left foot during his marathon (click here for details), so he had to wear this boot for a few weeks afterwards.  Poor guy.

Cool Assembly
One day at school, we had the lead illustrator for the kids show Phineas and Ferb come and do some drawings for us and explain the behind the scenes process of making an animated film.  It was very fascinating!

Awesome surprise
Brody surprised me one day with two of my favorite snack items:  Reese's Puff cereal and Blue Bell Ice Cream.  He really knows how to make my day :)

Evening with the Nelson Family
One weekend night, we drove up to Cheyenne, WY (45 minutes away) and met up with my aunt and her cute family who were moving from Utah to Minnesota.  We had dinner with them and chatted about their new adventure, and then they were on the road again!  I'm excited for them, but sad they won't be in Utah when we go home to visit.

Zombie Fest
We made a quick appearance at this year's Zombie Fest in downtown Fort Collins.  It's definitely a must-do every year!  This guy's costume was the most creepy...

Fall treat
I discovered a new and amazingly yummy fall treat - a chex mix or trail mix, of sorts.  Ingredients: Candy corn, gold fish, peanuts, and a pub mix.  I couldn't stop eating it.

Happy day
And last but not least.... We finally paid of ALL of my students loans!!!  We haven't even started with Brody's (and won't have to until he graduates) and I don't even want to THINK about that, but it feels so great to have mine paid off!  It was a happy day!

I seriously love the way you decorate. You are so creative! I'm sad- I forgot to put my halloween banner up this year. :( Poor Brody and his broken foot. Does he already not have to wear the boot? What a good husband to get you your two favorite things. I agree, both of them ARE the best!! I'm glad the Nelsons could stop by and see you. That zombie guy is frightening! I love candy corn so I need to try that chex mix stuff you made. Yummy! YAY for you not having any more student loans!!!

I just love seeing new posts from you- which I saw this one a few days ago, but again, it was on my ipad, so I always want to wait until I'm on a real keyboard so I can write more! Your halloween decorations are so cute! I just love them. And the Halloween sign- AH- I forgot about mine again! You need to remind me in the future to put mine up! I'm good at remembering the BD one, but that's about it. That was nice of Brody to buy you cereal and ice-cream for no good reason! I love thoughtful people. I'm glad you could meet up w/ the Nelsons. That picture of the zombie is really sick. But cool. Woo hoo for paying off your student loans! That's awesome. That yummy fall treat you make looks anything but yummy. I would have to be dying of starvation to think that looked appetizing. Sorry to say, but it's true. I'm glad you liked it though!
