Many random things.

First of all-- this looks hilarious:

It's on the Discovery Channel on Tuesday, June 2 @ 10pm if you're interested. I'll be watching it.

---------------------
Second-- Sal likes TV, or lions.
---------------------
Third-- I made brownies the other day and was missing an ingredient, so my mom volunteered to bring it by for me since she was coming by my house anyway for one of the boys games, but she wouldn't be coming for a half hour, so I had some time to kill. I decided to get everything set out and ready to go, so I would be all set when she came with the lost ingredient. No wonder people on TV make cooking look so easy-- it IS if you have everything set out and measured ahead of time!! Who does that? No one.
----------------------

Fourth-- we had a great Memorial Day that included an awesome breakfast at my parents, a bike ride in the canyon, visiting a few gravesites, helping my aunt Carol with some yard work and lunch at my grandma's. I had to work that night, but still, it was a great day!
-----------------------

Last-- we've taken Sal with us to do a few activities including biking and climbing. I think the bike ride was a little too hard for him because he was limping and breathing so hard after that I thought he was going to die. Oops. But he's ok now! And when we went climbing, he wanted so badly to reach the person that was up on the rock wall, that he would jump up on the rocks and get stuck, it was pretty funny.

Here's just some random pictures.

A New Do

Guess who got their hair done??................

Well, you probably guessed wrong because that was Brody! Gotcha!!

The other night we went to my aunt Stacie's house so she could trim my hair and while we were there, we thought it would be fun to curl Brody's hair using hairspray and all!. It was hilarious and he even left it in the next day when he went to the City of Rocks with his friends. Stacie also waxed his nose hairs, which was very interesting. Apparently, it doesn't even hurt that bad, but only Brody was willing enough to give it a try.

Mountain biking is fun.

So I've just discovered that mountain biking is quite fun, especially when you have an awesome bike! We just got ourselves each a new mtn. bike as a present to each other for our anniversary. I was a little worried at first about spending so much money on bikes when I didn't even know if I was going to like this hobby. So, today was our first ride together and thankfully I loved it! The ride up was hard, but a great work out and the ride down was a blast! I tried to go fast and keep up with Brod, but sometimes it got so rocky and bumpy I thought I was going to lose control if I went too fast (However, my butt didn't feel the bumps at all-- it's so awesome to have shocks in the front and the back!) Hopefully I'll get better, but I'm glad to know that I'll get some good use out of my bike!

Moab, Idaho and Ogden

We've had a few fun weekends recently. One was spent in Moab, one in Idaho and the other in Ogden. Here are some highlights...

Moab-
Our weekend in Moab was spent with our friends Nate and Kim doing some biking, climbing (Brody and Nate did an intense climb up this 400 foot tower that took 6 hours!), shopping and camping. It was a fun time until we got rained out a day early and had to go home.

Idaho-
Brody has never really spent much time with my awesome cousins that live in Idaho, so this last weekend, we went with Ryan and Lindsey to hang out with my Smith relatives. Our time was spent eating lunch at a yummy authentic Mexican restaurant, playing croquet and horseshoes, visiting the Snake river/dam, having a bonfire/BBQ and much story-telling and laughing. A big thanks to Janet for letting us stay at her house!

Ogden-

Last Saturday, Brody and I went to Ogden to spend the evening with the Bundy's. We made tin foils dinners and then hiked up to a fun spot up the canyon and had a fire right by the river and played games and ate dinner. We were there for about 5 hours and so much fun just talking and hanging out.

An eventful week

I've had a lot of fun events going on during the beginning of this week but then the weekend is just filled with lots of work... I think I'd rather have it be the other way around, then I have something to look forward to. Despite that though, these activities were all very fun!

Tuesday-- Wicked! I went down to Salt Lake with 10 other female relatives on my mom's side to see Wicked. We got our tickets all the way back in August because my mom knows someone who has connections, otherwise, they would have been almost impossible to get a hold of. We went out to eat at Cafe Trio and then headed to the Capitol Theater to watch the show. (It was a beautiful building!!) Even though the whole surprise effect of not knowing what would happen next was gone, it was just as good the second time; maybe because I knew all the songs and could get excited for my favorites. It was a great time and I loved being able to see and catch up with my wonderful aunts and cousins! Isn't it crazy that we all just happened to be wearing green and/or black?!.... Joke. It was planned. Fun times!

Wednesday-- A Temple Sealing On Wednesday morning, I was able to go to the endowment session of my aunt and uncle Tommy and Jessica and the sealing of them to their little girl Avery. It was so amazing and special to see a family get sealed together for eternity! I am so happy for them and I'm glad I was able to witness this incredible event.

Thursday-- A Wedding Shower Kathryn, one of my best friends since 5th grade, is getting married! She now lives in Provo but was in Logan on Thursday for a ward shower, so I figured since she was here anyway, that I would get a few of our other close friends together to do a mini friend shower at Hamilton's. It was great to see her and catch up with things and I'm so glad she has found such an awesome guy to spend her life with!

2 years...

Yesterday, Brody and I celebrated two years of marriage!! I can't believe how time has flown- I guess we've just been having too much fun together! Luckily, we both had the day off, so we were able to hang out together all day. Our day consisted of Crepes for breakfast, visiting the Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island (I bought Brody a book of the 501 must visit natural wonders in the world and this was one of them- sadly, it wasn't that cool since it was raining), mini-golf and bowling at the Salomon Center, dinner at Apple- bee's, visiting our cute little Nephew and watching Bolt. It was a great day and I just loved being able to be with Brody all day long!

A quick trip to Arizona

This last weekend Brody and I were able to go to Arizona to
look at some apartments
. Our friends Nate and Kim were going down to pick up a car they just bought, so we went down with them. We left on Friday and came back Monday so it was a lot of driving in a short amount of time!! We took our Jetta so Nate and Kim could take home their new car so it was fun to have all 4 of us in a car. It was also nice to rotate between so many drivers and we had some great conversations. It took about 10 hours to get to Flagstaff where we stayed with Kim’s sister for the night. On Saturday we drove down to Phoenix/Glendale to hang out and look at our apartments. One of the ones we were thinking about ended up being pretty dumpy and we realized that 2 miles away from campus is a long way for Brod to ride his bike in the hot Arizona heat so we drove over to Thunderbird campus to look at some that were a little closer. Our second choice ended up being literally across the street from campus and much nicer! It is more expensive, but I think it'll be worth it. So I’m glad we were able to check things out before we move all our stuff down. I'm getting excited to move but when we drove back into the northern part of Utah, I realized I'm going to miss it here a lot!
