A day at the lake

Two weekends ago, we spent a good few hours at Horsetooth Reservoir with our friends - Jon & Carrie and Michael & Christie.  We rented a cute little pontoon for a few hours and it was a blast!!  It was the "perfect summer get-away, complete with a water slide" {can anyone guess that reference??}

We've been having small rainstorms here between 3-5 every afternoon for the last few weeks, so we were really hoping it would hold off on the day we paid money in advance to rent a boat on the lake. We were all super bummed when, as we were stepping onto the boat, it started raining.  Lucky for us, it only lasted 10 minutes or so and then the sun came out and it was warm the rest of the time!  Good one, mother nature - you're such a trickster!!

We rented the "Party Cat" for 2 hours and had a blast!!  We brought lots of snacks for the boat, enjoyed jumping off the top deck, sliding down the slide, laying out and "speeding" through the water at full throttle - which was probably about 5 mph... ha ha!

Scenery pics (from left to right: 1) pretty rocks, 2) view of Horsetooth Rock from Horsetooth Reservoir, 3) a little cove we found to hang out in, 4) it was a busy day on the lake!

The guys (Brody, Jon, Michael)

The slide!

Afterwards, we headed to a beach area on the lake, had a BBQ and chatted until the sun went down.

Grill-master Brody (or, if you prefer: Pebbles Flinstone)  I think it's time for a hair cut Brod ;)

It was a fantastic day with great company and the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon.

That looks like so much fun! It makes me want to rent a boat and just be on the beach! Your swimming suit is really cute too! And Brody and his hair... no words. ha! Love you two!
